While exploring the Southwest Michigan lake shore I took a number of lighthouse pictures. The challenge was to not just paint another lighthouse painting. I imposed the image against the setting sun and used very saturated colors for the foreground elements. I think the color of the water pulled it all together. The sky is made up of seven separate washes. This was my second attempt at this image.
