Here is my latest watercolor, Harvest Sunset. I’ve brought together a number of techniques I’ve employed in previous paintings. It would be easy to just follow one of my previous successes, but I continue to push my boundaries with colors. The softness of the washes, the subtle transparencies are harmonious with the intense saturation of color. All throughout painting this image I was conflicted with the approach. It all came together when I laid down the foreground washes.
