There were times during this painting I thought I was going to have to start over, but it all came together in the end. It’s when I try something different that a genuinely unique result can happen. I have really simplified some of the shapes with just a minimal amount of visual information. The original photo is from a trip my wife's sister took while on vacation to Poland in 1966.
