I took a series of photos of this abandoned farmhouse in north central Illinois. The local kids had been slowly tearing down this once proud Victorian home. The original photo lacks any color. I took this colorful approach to bring life back into the old house. You could actually see right through the house and out the back. Four door frames and a window draw you into and through the painting. Here I experiment with flat saturated colors, and somewhat nontraditional approaches with watercolors. The transparency of the watercolors allowed me to create some unique color depth through layering.
